Fielt Test Device

Qualify NB-IoT / LTE-M networks

This network tester provides accurate, real-time results on the performance of NB-IoT/LTE-M networks.

The FTD connects via Bluetooth to a mobile application that provides an intuitive user interface from which you can easily set up a network test, view the analysis results and export them.

Highlights of the IoT network tester

  • Simultaneously evaluate an NB-IoT and/or LTE-M network.
  • View, store and export test results via the mobile app.
  • 3 operating modes:
    • network scan: scan and evaluate all the networks present,
    • network test: analyse network quality for a given operator,
    • radio-mapping project: contextualise your network test.

Qualify and validate NB-IOT / LTE-M network coverage

  • Scan all the networks present
of the various operators within range of the tester, and make a quick initial assessment of their performance.

  • Test NB-IoT and/or LTE-M network coverage
anywhere in the world, with any single or multi-operator nano-SIM card.

  • Qualify network coverage
at different locations and view network quality indicators for each measurement point.

  • Geolocate
each measurement point automatically and view the values on Google Maps or on your building plans.

3 modes to analyse network quality

Description

NETWORK SCAN MODE

This operating mode enables all the NB-IoT and/or LTE-M networks of the various operators within range of the FTD to be scanned and the connection quality of each network to be assessed.

Data included in the report:

  • timestamp,
  • GPS position,
  • operator,
  • technology,
  • MCC-MNC,
  • EARFCN,
  • Cell ID,
  • PCI,
  • RSRQ,
  • RSRP.

Network test mode

This mode of operation makes it possible to analyse the quality of the NB-IoT and/or LTE-M network for a specific operator, at different locations, and to view all the network quality indicators for each measurement point.

When a network test is triggered, the mobile application automatically displays the following indicators (which can be customised):

  • Visual indicator (4 bars): based on measurement of 2 indicators: RSRP and RSRQ.
  • Network identification: technology, band, operator, MCC-MNC, EARFCN, Cell ID, PCI.
  • Network quality: active timer, TAU, PSM, eDRX, RSRP, RSRQ, SNR, transmission power, CE level, power consumption, TX repeats, RX repeats, DL propagation loss.

RADIOMAPPING PROJECT MODE

This operating mode allows you to contextualise a NB-IoT and/or LTE-M network test.

You can view the values recorded for each measurement point on Google Maps or on your building plans. You can create detailed reports by adding comments and photos, generate Word reports and share them by email.

In addition, the mobile application lets you manage projects, including editing, deleting and archiving reports.

Information associated with the test:

  • timestamp,
  • values of the various network indicators,
  • comments,
  • geolocation on building plan or Google Maps, photos.
